After having a hesitating time for our first assignment, Mr Tay Guan taught us more about photography rules. For instance, rule of third, diagonal rule, framing, cropping,golden spiral and others. All these rules can be developed in our photos so that our photos can looks much more interesting instead of taking a very horizontal or flat way.

Picture above is taken at Melaka seaside.I feel kind of dramatic while i perceived this scene therefore, i took it as my framing rule.

This is the Eye of Malaysia. At the very beginning, I wanted to have a ride on it but trust me the entry fee is ..expensive. ==

This building is one of the Melaka building and the first impression that it gave to me is a very traditional chinese restaurant. Although they have been repaint the whole building but the atmosphere of the surrounding still remain.

This building defines the history of Melaka. By changing the color mode, I realize this effect kind of suit for this scene.

Semester 2 - Photography part 2

After going through several exercises, Mr Tay Guan implemented a new task for us which is our first assignment. What we need to do in this assignment is to take portraiture picture. In other words, we have to find a white mice to be our model.^^
I have chosen Charmine as my model because she satisfied my requirement. Charmine is my very old friend and the thing she really impressed me is she really understand herself. What i meant by that is she can be very flexible while I'm busying taking her pictures.

There's two categories for my first assignment indoor and outdoor glamorous portrait.
As for my outdoor portrait,I have decided to have my model shooting at a empty yard next to the Setia Alam Sport Complex.

F-stop: f/4 Shuttle speed: 1/13sec ISO:800
After taking my outdoor portrait, me and Charmine planed to take our indoor portrait at Centro mall. Both of us spent almost an hour at there due to the background issue. At the end, we finally had our final conclusion which is using the elevator's wall as our background. It's not an easy job to take picture in the elevator but overall we manage to complete our objective.

Even though, we faced some problems in our shooting but Charmine never complaint much on it. I'm glad to have a model like her. Thanks a lot my friend.^^

Semester 2 - Photography part 1

All of these pictures were taken for my first photography exercises.
Our lecturer, Mr Tay Guan gave us free theme for this exercise because he wanted us to practice more and understand the functions of each mode.
When i received this task from my lecturer, the first scene that pop up from my mind was the Setia Alam park. Therefore, i decided to have very beginning shots at there.

11st of August 2009, 6 30a.m
I remember sir mentioned about light source is one of the major aspect while taking picture.
In this case, i decided to have my very first shot in the early morning because morning sun light can actually enhances the nature feeling.
I would also like to thanks my mum because she attempted to accompany me to the park.

This tree might looks very normal but when we look think from another perspective, it might give us different kind of visual.

While I was walking along the track, my mum asked me to take this scene because she said that the sunlight looks very nice

Instead of taking a whole tree, I tended to only focus part of the tree so that there's a contrast between the sky and tree.

Sometimes, we should bend down our knee and have a look towards the world because it mights give us different kind of visual and experience.

This shot was taken when i perceived there was a water drop on the grass. It eventually gave me a sense of natural.

A very harmony sunlight falls on the pink flower with few drops of water drop.

F-stop: f/5.6 Shuttle speed: 1/50sec ISO:200
Depth of field definitely do a great job in differentiating the background and also the main object.

Maybe for you guys this dragonfly picture might looks kind of fake but trust me it's a real dragonfly! I spent around 20 minutes to take this little fella because I'm not using a micro lens.
